When Our Life REALLY Began

In 2006, three years after our marriage, we became pregnant with our first born child.

Getting pregnant isn’t easy for us.  For certain medical reasons it is very hard for us to have children.  But we prayed about it and left it in God’s hands.

I’ll never forget the moment when I knew I would be a father.  I was on my way to work.  The weather was still nice so I was commuting on my motorcycle.  And as I traveled, I prayed.  I prayed for God’s blessing for Tracie and I to have a child as I did everyday. But on this day, God sent down a blessing upon me that is indescribable.  But He hugged me in his warm embrace and He spoke to my heart and He let me know that what we had prayed for so long had finally happened.

He let me know that He had blessed us with a child.  And I thanked him as the wind from the motorcycle ride blew my tears of joy back behind me.

Two days later while I was eating breakfast, Tracie walked into the dining room with tears in her eyes and something in her hand.  She held it up to show me a plus sign on a pregnancy test.  We embraced.  Neither one of us could speak as the tears flowed.

We were overjoyed! Ecstatic beyond belief!  It’s when our life REALLY began! Thank you God!
