The Willows Farm Wedding Venue Guide
The Willows Farm is one of our absolute favorite wedding venues in all of north Georgia. The venue is located in Marble Hill, GA. The ceremony and photo locations are plentiful as well as beautiful. The reception area and bridal suite are spacious. And the management is unbeatable. Continue reading for more details on this amazing venue.
The Willows Farm, at its heart, is a barn wedding venue. This barn, however, it’s one of the most elegant barn venues in all of north Georgia. It is so beautiful and so spacious that once you are inside you don’t even realize you are inside a barn. It will easily accommodate a number of guests in excess of 200.
DIY or All Inclusive?
The Willows Farm is typically an all inclusive wedding venue and they can accommodate you with everything including décor, catering, DJ, photography, video, ect. With that being said, if you have your heart set on using a particular vendor, they will glady customize a package for you so you get exactly what you want for your big day.
The multitude of beautiful ceremony locations is an aspect where this venue really outshines it’s competition. Inside, outside, shady, sunny, rain backup plans, you name it, The Willows Farm has it.
The Green House – The most popular outdoor ceremony spot is a location that they call The Green House. It is a beautiful ceremony site nestled into a nook of shade trees. A beautiful flagstone pathway leads up to a green, wrought iron arbor under which you can say your vows.
Under the Willows – Another outdoor ceremony site is located just outside the bridal suit house underneath the willow trees. It makes a gorgeous backdrop to say vows in. Just be mindful of your wedding date as this location does not have any shade to keep your guests cool on a hot summer day.
The Pavilion – Inside the big, temperature controlled space of the barn, called the Pavilion, is a great way to outsmart mother nature by having your ceremony inside. The only drawback is that this space will need to be converted into the reception space immediately following the ceremony. While this is happening, your guests can enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres outside on the patio.
The Barn – This smaller barn is typically used as a backup space for the outdoor ceremonies in case of inclement weather. It usually stays decorated and ready to go at a moments notice.
The first thing that stands out to me about the interior of the Pavilion is it’s spaciousness. It’s a rare thing to be in a barn this big without having some type of support posts or columns that you have to work around.
Second is the layout and the flow. I’m not 100% certain about this but I believe this venue was built with the specific purpose of being a wedding venue. In other words, I don’t believe it was an already existing building that was converted into a wedding venue but it was instead built and laid out to serve the specific needs of a wedding and reception venue. And let me tell you, it makes a difference.
There is a convenient space for the bar, the wedding cake, a kitchen for the caterers, plenty of bathrooms for the guests. You have plenty of space for all the tables and chairs and at the same time you still have plenty of space for the dance floor.
The Bridal Suite
Another aspect where this venue outshines is the bridal suite. First, it is incredibly spacious with more than enough room for numerous bridesmaids to get ready. Second, the space is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of diffused window light for those glowing bridal portraits. We LOVE photographing in here!
Where do the groomsmen get ready?
The Willows Farm thinks of everything you may need for your wedding day and one of those things is a place for the guys to get ready and hangout. Not too long ago they added a cozy groom’s cottage where the guys can chill out of sight while they await their turn for photos.
Let’s just say you will not be disappointed with the plethora of photo locations at this wedding venue. Have a look at this short video to see them all!
Rain Backup Plan
Let’s face it. No one likes to think of having bad weather on their wedding day. But unfortunately we can’t bury our head in the sand and pretend it never happens. Believe me, it does. In fact, it happened to us very recently here at The Willows Farm.
It was 15 minutes until ceremony time and we were already setting up our camera equipment to video the ceremony outside down at the Greenhouse. The first handful of guests had already taken their seats but you could tell a large rain cloud was headed our way.
The Willows Farm staff was diligent at checking the radar and they made the call to move the ceremony indoors to the barn which was all ready to go. They bused us and the handful of guests who were already seated back up the hill and out of the rain.
We had almost no time to prepare for the weather. It started raining about five minutes before the original ceremony time. And thanks to The Willows Farm backup plan and their wonderful staff, we had the ceremony indoors while a popup raincloud rained overhead and we only had to delay the start time by about half an hour.
Management and Staff
I can’t say enough good things about the owners, management, and staff at the Willows Farm. They are a family owned, family run wedding venue. Amy along with the rest of the staff are professional yet friendly and accommodating. And you can just tell that they strive to have your wedding day be perfect and go off without a hitch.
